Justin Timberlake, blacker than MJ

The other night while watching the MTV Video Awards I kept wondering if anyone has ever told Justin Timberlake that 1) he’s not black and 2) he’s not Michael Jackson.  The it hit me…  These days Justin Timberlake is blacker than Michael Jackson.

The one with the bike racks

The other day I biked Downtown for some coffee and on the way home decided I was too lazy to ascend the big hill up towards Midtown.  So I stopped to catch the Max bus in the Crossroads.  While waiting for the bus another guy on his bike struck up a converstation about how nice it was that bike racks had recently been added to all of the city buses.

This guy was recently unemployed and relying on his bike and the bus for transportation, especially to job interviews.  While KC does have a decent bus sytem, it can be pretty useless beyond the urban core if you need to travel at off-peak times or the weekend.  The bus often gets you *almost* there, and can be cumersome with transfers and such.  But the bike racks greatly extend the range of cyclists as well as the usefullness of the bus.  It’s a relatively small thing that yields huge results.
