Hooray for Global Warming
January 31st, 2006
This is crazy even for Missouri’s volitile weather. It’s 62 degrees on January 31st and I’m typing this outside on the deck. The normal high for today is 38 degrees, but we’ve had highs in the 50s for most of January. So, hooray for global warming. (I’ll probably regret that statement come August when it’s 110 and 100% humidity).
Lou-bound
January 26th, 2006So I’m heading to St. Louis in a couple of weeks on a new endeavour. It’s been a few years since I’ve spent any serious time in the Lou, as most of the folks I knew there have moved to KC or elsewhere. So, if anyone has some updates on what’s new and cool on the east coast of the state, bring ‘em on. The science center is always a must-see for me, and I plan to check out the progress of their downtown renovations as well.
Show Me the Ringtones
January 17th, 2006This is hard core nerdy even for me. If anyone wants the official state song on their phone, here is a MIDI file of the Missouri Waltz.
From the Disturbing But Not Surprising In America file
January 6th, 2006This morning NPR points out that pre-school teachers and childcare workers make less money on average than pet trainers. Now I’m waiting for the revalation that there are more uninsured kids than uninsured animals…
