Dear Chili’s, You Suck

Dear Chili’s,

You suck. You suck for two very important reasons. The first reason you suck is that you got rid of your yummy French onion soup. The second reason you suck is that you traded Boulevard Pale Ale for nasty Sam Adams. That beer tastes like ass. So to reiterate, you suck because of the soup and the assy beer. In conclusion, Chili’s, you suck.

Your pal enemy,

Eric

Curse of the Cardinals

President Bush throws out the first Cardinals pitch.

The worst president in history throws out the opening pitch. The team gets roughly spanked in the World Series. Just a coincidence? I wonder if the team regrets piping in recorded applause for the pitch?

KC Unplugged

WifiOver the past year KC has begun reaching a critical mass of free WiFi hotspots. Some of my favorites are Union Station, Crown Center, the Central Library, Coffee Girls in the Crossroads, Tea Drops in Westport, Panera Bread, and Westport Coffee House.

A lot of places want you to buy a cup of coffee or something, but the Union Station, Crown Center, and library sites are totally free. BlogKC has a bigger list of hotspots around town.

Election day looking good

After attending volunteer training for the Missouri Democratic Party’s election day efforts, I’m very hopeful of a good outcome next week. The party and the various candidates are working on a huge operation to get their voters to the polls, and to protect the election from the shenanigans that have already begun.

Thousands of people are committing to volunteer on election day. The training I went to expected 80 people, and over 200 showed up. The campaign is overwhelmed by the number of Missourians and others who want to make sure this election goes well. 3,000 or more will be out on Tuesday making phone calls and canvassing neighborhoods. Yellow Cab is offering a free ride to the polling places for anyone that needs it.

The campaign is targeting dozens of precincts in the urban core and other Democratic neighborhoods. Each one will have a dedicated poll checker and a lawyer on site all day. A team of roving lawyers will cover the rest of the metro area. And this is just in KC. Similar efforts are planned for the rest of the state.

A lot of people are writing Missouri off as a Bush state this year, but if we get enough people to vote it doesn’t have to be that way. Here are places to go right now to help protect the election.

Uniter, Not a Divider

Dubya actually is a uniter. He seems to be the only one able to unite Moby and Eminem. Check out Eminem’s awesome new video.

Clinton is back on the campaign trail, and all is right with the world again :)
Here is his intro of John Kerry in Philadelphia, where they drew a crowd of 100,000!

Republican Switchers

MoveOn has a great series of ads with real Republicans explaining in their own words why they are voting for John Kerry. They are done in the same style as Apple’s “Switch” ads from the last couple of years.

KC Kings
KANSAS CITY
KANSAS CITY,

Now that KC has a new arena on the way, the Sacremento Kings are one of the NBA teams being talked about as potential tenants. So hang on to any old Kansas City Kings memorabilia that you might have in your basement or back of the closet.
