Geek Eye for KC

It has finally arrived… Kansas City’s Apple Store. It’s on the Country Club Plaza at 47th & Broadway, just south of Barnes & Noble. Eye witnesses report the line started forming at 11:00 pm the night before, ultimately reaching 700-800 fanboys and fangirls from near and far. It was super crowded all weekend, due in part to the 300,000 people outside at the Plaza Art Fair. It’s good to see the exterior does a decent job of accomodating Apple’s modern design without overpowering the Plaza’s Spanish architecture. For one weekend at least, the Apple Store was more popular than the tanorexics at Kona Grill or the cocaine den in the basement of Mi Cocina.

I haven’t queued up for an opening since the first Star Wars re-release, but Andy was there and posted a blog entry, photos, and video. Other photos from here, and here.

Bill Clinton – My Life

Here’s the much-anticipated autobiography. So far it’s really tedious, but hopefully some good stuff is coming soon. The damn thing is huge, probably 2-3 pounds. I bet it weighs more than Paris Hilton’s fashion accessory dog. The unabridged audio version is 48 hours long! Right now I’m trying the abridges audiobook. It will be interesting to compare it with Nigel Hamilton’s excellent Clinton biography.
