Friday Fright NightBack in the day before television became completely franchised and homogenized, Kansas City had a fair number of it’s own stuff going on. Horror movies huge, with most stations running regular movie nights, complete with live hosts. Remember Crematia Mortem on Channel 41’s Creature Feature? Or how about Channel 5’s Friday Fright Night and the Ray Adams ads? Horror Host Stuff has lots of info these and other old KC televion shows and personalities.

Fantics and Fools coverHere’s the latest book from author, columnist, Progressive, and California governor candidate Arianna Huffington. It aims to expose both the right wing fanatics running the county into the ground, and the left wing fools who are bending over and letting it happen. Her analysis of fanatics is kinda lame and disjointed, but the coverage of the fools is dead on.

Labels are good

Web designers, for the love of god please remember to use the friggin’ <label> tag for your form elements, especially radio buttons and checkboxes.  It makes the text next to the form element clickable, so the user doesn’t have to land the cursor exactly on the wee little element.

Without the <label> tag you have to click on the button:

But with the tag you can click on the text next to the button:
