XXX

October 15th, 2003

Thanks to Michelle for pointing out that in Roman numerals, 30 is XXX. That sounds much better. And for the record, 30 is really the last year of the 20s, just like 2000 was really the last year of the millenium. So there, I still have one more year left. Yeah, that's the ticket.

People’s Choice

October 10th, 2003

Missouri has won the 2003 people's choice award for best mountain biking state, and a respectable B+ grade from the judges. That's actually not a surprise considering that there are 100+ miles of trails within 30 minutes of Downtown Kansas City and the rest of Missouri has a wealth of outdoor recreation opportunities. So get out and enjoy some of the great off-road trails in the area.

“And why not? In the past five years awesome clubs from Kansas City and St. Louis have built miles of new trails with many more on the way. Missouri is also emerging as a hub for heartland mountain bike advocates, as the IMBA affiliate Earth Riders hosts the annual Midwest Mountain Bike Conference. The next step: creating a statewide organization that focuses beyond Missouri's two major metropolitan areas.” – International Mountain Biking Association
