2 – Springfield Brewing Company – Paul Mueller needed a place to show off his stainless steel bulk tanks, so be built a brewery. They had good music when I was in school. Downtown near the Square. http://www.springfieldbrewingco.com/

4 – I second A & B Cycle. I haven’t yet been to their “new” shop down south.

Check the nightlife listings and see if the Morells or Skeletons are playing annywhere. Not sure which incarnation, if any, they are using these days. Look for the names Lou Whitney, D. Clinton Thompson, or Donny Thompson. Best live music experience ever. In addition to performing live, Lou Whitney is an incredible producer. Musicians from all over make the pilgrimage to Springfield for Lou Whitney’s magic touch (no homo).

Sweet, thanks J. The brewery was already on my list. The bike shop sounds cool, but sadly I’ll be in meetings all day so not sure if I can get in there while they are open.

Keith, I’ve done Bass Pro enough times already And Lambert’s just isn’t the same if it’s not Sikeston.

check the brewery downtown. yummy brews. also, swing by a&b cycle on south national. ask for patrick. tell him you’re a friend of mine, what you’re in town for, and that you’d like some ideas for what to do at night. he should be able to hook you up – perhaps he’ll recommend a good show will be in town or a nice place to whet your whistle.

Well let’s see, there’s Bass Pro. The county fair may be going on, and there’s always Lambert’s.

Other than that, I can’t think of any *real* attractions in Springfield that don’t involve fishing…
