Bill Clinton

July 9th, 2007

Last week Michelle and went to see Bill Clinton speak for the 50th anniversary of the Truman Presidential Library. It was a great speech that touched on lessons we can learn from Truman’s legacy and apply it today’s mess. There was a lot of “what would Harry do” if he were in charge today. And it was awesome to be in the presence of a competent president again. I saw him speak at Drake once, and all these years later he’s still got the mojo.

Also, the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence is groovy++. It’s a beautiful 1920′s building that has been wonderfully maintained over the years. I was surprised to overhear so many conversations between people who had never been there before, perhaps there were just a lot of folks that don’t normally go north of College Boulevard or east o Ward Parkway. Anyway, it’s a local landmark like Municipal Auditorium or the Nelson-Atkins Museum. If you haven’t seen it, go take a tour of the auditorium and the adjacent temple.

If it wasn’t against the Constitution, Bill could easily win a couple more terms.
