Bad Bike Mojo

It’s been a bad 24 hours.  Last night I rode down to 75th Street Brewery to meet up with my buddy Jeff, who promptly got a flat tire and had not one but two flat spares.  After getting him patched up enough to ride home we got about 3 blocks before my back axel broke.  The bike was done for the night, so Michelle came and rescued me.

Then this morning I get to work and learn that Jeff was hit by a car on his ride to work in Johnson County.  Fortunately him and the bike are OK, but it’s still a scary thing.  Just last week there was a similar accident in Brookside where a clueless motorist turned into a cyclist, only this one went to the hospital and the motorist left without a ticket.
