Hooray for Global Warming

January 31st, 2006

This is crazy even for Missouri’s volitile weather. It’s 62 degrees on January 31st and I’m typing this outside on the deck. The normal high for today is 38 degrees, but we’ve had highs in the 50s for most of January. So, hooray for global warming. (I’ll probably regret that statement come August when it’s 110 and 100% humidity).

I just went for a couple-miles walk around the downtown area. I love the warm air, but the incessant 15-20 mph winds kind of ruin the enjoyment, or at least one’s ability to keep their eyes open. It’s interesting that that kind of goes away in the warmer months.

And yet…I am loving this. I have barely had to wear my coat this winter. Sure, it’s going to suck in the summer when you can’t go outside without your clothes immediately sticking to your body, but for now…lovely, lovely warm(er than normal) weather!

Was everyone else worried about heating costs this year?
It is amazing how much money we are saving!
Loves it, because school is sooooo expensive. We have
even more costly cuts in higher education today to
look forward to. Damn atleast we have good weather!?!

Haven’t ran my furnace since sometime in December. It’s working out great, as I was a tad peeved about dishing out $30 for five days of service.
