Homeless blog

October 5th, 2005

This blog (and the rest of the site) is about to become homeless. My hosting provider is going out of business, so I need to find us a new home. My current deal is 500 Mb for $5 a month, which might be hard to duplicate. I’d also like to find someone that offers WebDAV. Any suggestions?

  1. I’ve heard good things about Dreamhost. I haven’t used them though. I doubt they have WebDAV though…

I’ve used http://www.mirrorimages.net/ for seven or eight years; she hosts a huge number of my freelance clients as well, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a complaint.

I also have a few clients hosted by http://nohasslehosting.net/, as does Mr. Reecie. No complaints there either.

I’m hosted on csoft, and I’ve been very happy with them. Though they have more of a focus on the command line than web interfaces. They aim to please, and can usually accomodate just about any user.

I have another site on tronic, which seems to be catered more to the web-based updating and blogging software, but still offers shell access, which is absolutely essential for me.

Both of the hosts I recommended have simply excellent price plans.

Didn’t you post the link to a no-support web hosting company a while back? I’d be interested in knowing your thoughts on them?
