Riverfront Heritage Trail

Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS are working with the Mid America Regional Council (MARC) to build a 18 mile multi-use trail along the Missouri River, connecting both downtowns and adjacent areas like the River Market and City Market, Berkeley Riverfront Park, West Bottoms and Kemper Arena, West Bottoms, Westside and Southwest Blvd, Union Station, Crown Center, and Penn Vally Park and Liberty Memorial.

Also included is a pedestrian bridge linking the River Market area to the riverfront, the trail, and a new Town of Kansas interpretive site showcasing the KCMO's first settlement. This trail is slated to be the centerpiece of MetroGreen, a metro-wide network of trails and greenways.
